Week 5: Enabling Access - Sites

Kia ora and welcome back to the musings of a lifelong learner...

WWW

Kahoot - remember gamification - Working well for other classes.

Teach - changing font and colour… simple ideas to build skills.

Senior Sports (site) page - use media group to report - Set up later in the session -
page now on site and shared with peers.

Toolbar/bookmark bar - lesson for staff. - Inserted in snippet dock - 1 minute idea and nice tidy tool.

Google form - group create.

Embed - codes in blogs.

Assigned myself follow ups.

VISIBLE

Important for learners to know what they are learning. IN the past the message has been hidden and
kept like a secret for mind reading students. Technology has made a big difference in this bring
intentions and next steps to accessible places and able to rewound and extended.
Hapara - makes learners work visible to teachers - we need to up skill our parents so
they can view and discuss what their children are learning.

Sites and Blogs are a good place to record teacher's inquiry. Evidence saved and able to be reviewed
easily.

Be careful with permissions and passwords. They can hinder the audience access to the work in drive.

SITES

(I have just learnt a valuable lesson on saving and publishing.)
SHOP window - engage the learner
Minimise the amount of clicks to access learning.

We were exposed to a wonderful range of teachers sites. These were rife with ideas and the examples
allowed us to use a critical eye and take the ideas to our own site.
Thanks to this and the time given to work on our sites I feel more confident with my site delivering to
my students.
Still room to improve and this will continue through the year - You can see the site in the following link.
